Bobby BowndenFormer FSU Head Football Coach
Bobby Bowden is known as much for his affable charm as he is for his championship teams. Bowden guided Florida State University to more than three hundred victories, two national championships, twelve Atlantic Coast Conference titles, finishing in the top five in the country in 14 straight seasons, and led the Seminoles to Bowl Games in 28 consecutive seasons during his 34 year tenure. He is a committed Christian who credits his success in football to his faith. The patriarch of college football's most famous coaching family, Bowden remains heavily involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. His book "Called to Coach: Reflections on Life, Faith, and Football" was released in August 2010. He and his wife of 64 years, Ann, live in Tallahassee, Florida.
"Faith is the most important thing in the world to me. It's the greatest strength I've had. It's helped me get through the hard times. You're not going to win every one of your football games. I've always said I'm not going to make football my God. A lot of coaches put so much into coaching football games that they have nothing left. I've never made football my priority. My priorities are my faith and my dependence on God."
SistersGrammy Nominated Musical Group
These sisters began their music ministry before they were out of elementary school, along with parents Leo and Brenda Ruppe. It was in 1974, when Kim was nine and Heather was eight, the two daughters and Brenda began singing as The Ruppes. Valerie was also a part of the ministry at the young age of four. In 1975, the group recorded their first album, The Way, The Truth, The Life. They went on to experience overwhelming success. Their most notable song during their years as The Ruppes was the stunningly beautiful, "Under His Wings." They had many other top songs including their first number one, "Angels In The Room" from the album " Seasons". Their 2001 album release Born to Serve yielded a Grammy® nomination. And today, Sisters are traveling all over the country sharing their dynamic harmonies and deep love for Christ.
